What this plugin does

Stealth, Vision & Pursuit System turns ordinary RPG Maker MZ map events into guards that can detect, investigate, pursue, search for, and catch the player.

Configure each guard's vision range, field-of-view angle, detection time, search time, pursuit speed, and catch distance. Line of sight respects walls, impassable tiles, Region IDs, and designated blocker events.

Detection builds through suspicion rather than switching instantly from calm to caught. After losing sight of the player, guards search the last known position before returning to their previous patrol.

Built-in sound detection supports footsteps and scripted distractions, while regions can provide cover, reduce footstep noise, or block vision completely. Player-facing indicators include written status labels as well as visual fields of view and detection progress.

Features

  • Create stealth guards from normal map events with a Note tag.
  • Use configurable vision cones, gradual suspicion, line of sight, and multiple detection states.
  • Let guards hear footsteps and scripted distractions, then investigate the sound source.
  • Pursue detected players, search their last known position, and return to normal patrols.
  • Trigger switches, self switches, or common events when guards become alert or catch the player.

Requirements

  • RPG Maker MZ

Good fit for

  • Stealth and infiltration games
  • Horror and escape sequences
  • Restricted areas and patrol-based minigames

Setup and testing

  1. Install and enable the plugin in an RPG Maker MZ project.
  2. Add the documented Note tag to one test guard that already has an Autonomous Movement patrol.
  3. Tune that guard's vision, suspicion, pursuit, search, and catch settings on a representative map.
  4. Test walls, cover regions, silent regions, distractions, alert triggers, and save/load behavior before expanding the system.
